Cauliflower

Cauliflower is a vegetable from the regions of the Eastern Mediterranean, particularly from the near East (Asia Minor, Lebanon and Syria). In antiquity, it was not consumed as nourishment. The cauliflower is an inflorescence of a rounded, fleshy and large shape. It belongs to the Cruciferae family, which includes more than 300 kinds and about 3,000 native species of temperate and cold regions of the Northern hemisphere. The term Brassica, a kind to which they belong, is the Latin name for cabbages.
